This map shows the 26 cantons of Switzerland, the member states of the Swiss Confederation (Latin: Confoederatio Helvetica, CH). The cantons are indicated by their code (two-letter abbreviations), which are widely used, such as on car license plates. The coats of arms are also depicted small next to the list of cantons below the map.

On the map, the cantons of Switzerland are listed in the official languages of each canton. The names usually correspond to the names used in English. The cantons are also listed below, using the most commonly used name in English and indicating the capitals:

  • ZH – Zurich (capital: Zurich)
  • BE – Bern (capital: Bern)
  • LU – Lucerne (capital: Lucerne)
  • UR – Uri (capital: Altdorf)
  • SZ – Schwyz (capital: Schwyz)
  • OW – Obwalden (capital: Sarnen)
