LEARN GERMANIC LANGUAGES:
The Germanic languages are a branch of the Indo-European language family. More than 200 million Europeans have a Germanic language as their native language and it is the predominant language family in Western and Northern Europe.
West and North Germanic languages
The West Germanic languages have the most native speakers in Europe, with nearly 100 million German speakers, 70 million English speakers, and 24 million Dutch speakers. Smaller groups include Luxembourgish (c. 600,000) and the Frisian languages (c. 500,000).
The North Germanic languages are represented by nearly 10 million Swedish speakers, 5.5 million Danish speakers, 5 million Norwegian speakers, and smaller groups such as Icelandic (c. 300,000) and Faroese (c. 70,000).
Learn Germanic languages
Depending on which Germanic language you can speak, you will unlock a new part of Northwestern Europe. You can get closer to the inhabitants, understand them better and get to know their culture. In addition, you will unlock a new part of literature and the internet.
When you have mastered the basics, it is recommended to put it into practice with native speakers. Because one learns best by daring and doing. Learning a new language is also good for your brain and can contribute to better memory.
