About the Danish language

Danish is a North Germanic language spoken by more than 5.5 million people in Denmark. It is the national language of the country. In addition, Danish is spoken in Greenland, the Faroe Islands and the German region of Southern Schleswig. Written Danish is closely related to Norwegian Bokmål, one of the two varieties of written Norwegian.
